Is my foreign trademark protected in Indonesia?
Not automatically. Indonesia follows a first-to-file system, so you should register locally, either directly or through the Madrid Protocol.
How long does trademark registration take?
The process often takes more than a year, including examination and the publication period. Filing early is the best protection.
What can I do if someone copies my brand?
Options include a demand letter, cancellation of their registration, and an infringement claim at the Commercial Court. We recommend the route that fits the situation.
